About

Founded as a racing club in 1978, Velo Club Baracchi is based in Lowestoft in North Suffolk and members compete across the Eastern Region in Time Trials, Road, Cyclo-Cross and XC MTB races.

VCB is affiliated to British Cycling (the governing body for all disciplines of the sport in Great Britain), Cycling Time Trials who oversee time trailing in England, CTC who are the leading campaign group for the cyclist’s rights in the UK and the Eastern Road race League. You can find out much more about each of these organisations by visiting their respective websites, links for which can be found on this site.

If you are new to the sport, the club has a wealth of knowledge both from experienced riders and qualified coaches who can help you get the most from your cycling whichever discipline you wish to pursue. VCB promotes a number of races at various disciplines for the benefit of our members and those of other clubs in the region. In order to do so we rely on each member helping out at a couple of these each year.

Between October and April a choice of club training rides are offered depending on ability and during the season training can be arranged with other members via e-mail, phone or, via the Friends of VC Baracchi Facebook group.

On most Sundays (even in the racing season if there are members who are not competing) the club run sets off from the Colville Road roundabout at 8.30am and prospective members with some ability are welcome to join in for all or part of the distance.

Informal meeting nights are held on the second Monday of each month from around 8.00pm at the Tramways public house in Pakefield (N.B. no longer at the old venue in Carlton Colville!) and you can get further information about the club by contacting the secretary, Patrick Harbord either on 01502 562907 or patrickharbord@yahoo.com

If you would like to join the club please download a form from the membership section.
