A quiet time but watch out for Womack!

The break from cycling competition continues in the run-up to the New Year and Velo Club Baracchi riders are out training.

The Sunday 9am rides are proving to be a popular alternative to the 8.30am rides for those who want to go further and possibly faster.  Both are from the Cotmer Road roundabout.

Last week’s 9am ride was about 45 miles or so and some of the riders chose to stop at the café in Bungay en route.

John Thompson was also out riding on a route of his own that he described as a soft one.  Perhaps most riders will stir themselves more vigorously when the festive season is past.

For many years the club has organised the Broome Heath Scramble cyclo-cross, even though for several years none of the members has taken part.  This year the mantle has passed to Iceni Velo and the event is on December 18.

Tim Guy of Iceni Velo currently lies second in the league standings behind Hayden Wood, described as unattached.

One or two VC Baracchi riders are likely to have entered the CC Breckland New Year’s Day open 10-mile time trial.  They include Chris Womack and the veteran rider is looking fit enough to do well.
