Richards, riding for Dap CC sets new course record at Billingford

A minor lull in Velo Club Baracchi entries in time trials was compensated for by a great ride by Mark Richards.

Richards, who was until last year the vice chairman of VCB and rides as a first claim member of Dap CC, set a new course record in the Diss CC evening 10-mile time trial last week.

His time was 20:27 on the course from Billingford to the Needham roundabout and back.  On the day, his closest opposition was Simon Scott of Anglia Velo in 22:01.

Paul Reed of VCB rode the event on a road bike and recorded 28:13. There were 25 riders in the event.

Paul Hayward, VCB’s current vice chairman, rode the CC Breckland 10 in 23:20.  Veteran Chris Womack was not pleased with his 27:11 ride.

Ben Stancombe of Team VeloVelocity won in 20:56 and the top lady was Kimberley Hatlon-Farrow of DRAG2ZERO in 21:56.

There go the Wrinklies

The informal Wrinklies rides that include VCB members and others remain as popular as ever, setting off from Carlton Church on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9am.

Club rides are on Sundays at 8.30 from the Cotmer Road roundabout and attract half a dozen or so riders, depending on what is going on elsewhere.
